Terror bills

Not much to say today, except to point you to an interview on As It Happens (the second segment) with a former CSIS officer who's very critical of the government's proposal to expand the powers of CSIS to combat terrorism.  It raises several issues I missed, including the fact that the way terrorist activity is defined, the new powers could be used to target groups the Conservatives have political problems with, such as anti-tar sands activists.  So if you're suspicious of the government's motivations (and you always should be, no matter which government we're talking about), there's plenty in this bill to alarm you.
